Mechanical Systems Engineer
Location: On-Site, Bothell, WA | Salary: $94,000 to $144,000 per year, based on level | Employment: Full-time, 6+ months

THE ROLE
You will work on aircraft mechanical systems: environmental control systems (ECS), water and waste, and oxygen. The current program is early and partly conceptual, so you will help shape the design, not just document it. We are hiring at the mid and senior levels.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Mid Level
  • Create drawings and schematics for ECS, water and waste, and oxygen systems.
  • Work fairly complex system designs through to finished drawings.
Senior Level
  • Lead system level design and work through dependencies with other teams.
  • Lead and support more junior engineers.
  • Research possible solutions and turn customer requirements into design level solutions on an early stage program.
All Levels
  • Work closely with the electrical, monuments, and other engineering groups your systems touch.
  • Communicate clearly about the assumptions you are making and how your work affects other areas. Strong cross team communication is central to this role.
  • Use Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and PLM 360 (now Autodesk Fusion Manage).
Impact: Only a handful of companies in the world complete VIP interiors on wide body aircraft. Every program is custom built, so you won't get stuck doing the same thing over and over.

WHAT YOU BRING
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Mid level: 3+ years of mechanical systems design experience. Senior level: 7+ years, including system level design and leading other engineers.
  • Aircraft mechanical systems experience is ideal. Transferable experience also counts, such as hydraulics or ECS on non aircraft systems, if you can jump in and get your hands dirty quickly.
  • 3D CAD experience. Inventor is a plus.
  • Strong communication and cross discipline collaboration skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to perform this work within the United States
  • Able to work onsite in the Bothell, WA area

Preferred
  • Direct experience with aircraft ECS, water and waste, or oxygen systems
  • VIP or business jet completions background
  • Early stage or conceptual design experience
